| What Do We Do For the Express Delivery, Mail and Logistics Industry? |
|
XLA undertakes many activities designed to meet basic needs of the express and logistics industry. Education has been of paramount importance ever since the organization's founding in 1976. The strong emphasis placed on educational activities is mirrored in the agenda of the Annual Conference, where issues of concern to the entire membership are addressed in the general sessions, workshops, panel discussions and other program proceedings. Another highlight of the Annual Conference is AirCargo, an exhibition of products and services geared to the express and logistics market which serves as the premier trade show for this industry in the United States. We also work with education partners, such as NTLA, to identify and offer vital education programs on issues that affect day-to-day operations and other issues of importance to the express and logistics market. Members also benefit by XLA's contacts with such key agencies as the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security, Transportation and Commerce, and the Office of the United States Trade Representative. In addition, XLA maintains close contact with Congressional and Administration leaders, as well as with related associations in other nations and with various American, foreign and international trade groups. XLA's newsletter, XLA Express, the bi-weekly XLA Extra e-publication, intermittent XLA Alerts, and Policy Bulletins provide coverage of events and trends in the industry, as well as issues on the national and international legislative and regulatory fronts.
